Laboratory of Molecular Oncology of Military Institute of Medicine is seeking highly motivated candidate for a PostDoc position to work within an Opus project “Hypoxia compensation into physioxia to normalize/regenerate ischaemic tissues. Effects of microRNA regulation for targeted stable vessel normalization in tumor treatments” funded to prof Claudine Kieda by NCN. The laboratory is a part of Oncology Clinic and joins basic and applied sciences with clinical application.

PhD degree in biology, biotechnology, biophysics, biochemistry or related fields (obtained not earlier than 2010)
Hands-on experience in techniques of molecular and cellular biology, including: culture of cancer and endothelial cells, flow cytometry, gene expression analysis, fluorescence microscopy
Experience in work with animal models (mice)
Scientific background in oncology and immunology confirmed by publication record
Fluency in English (speaking and writing)
Experience in the analysis of microRNA will be an advantage

Scope of work:
Planning and performing experiments: culture of primary and established cell lines; preparation of samples from patient material; in vivo experiments, microscopic and cytometric analysis. Gene expression analysis; preparation of NGS experiments. Preparing the reports to the PI and NCN. Data analysis and preparation of publications. Technical supervision of a PhD student working in the project. Project realisation requires short-term stays in partner institutions (France).

The successful candidate will perform the research under supervision of prof Claudine Kieda. We offer work in a new forming team, adjacent to a patient clinic. Position is funded for the project duration (36 months). More information on the project: link
